The Department of Communication offers Graduate Certificates in two areas: Health Communication, Dispute Resolution, and Communication & Media.

Graduate Certificate in Communication and New Media 

The Communication & New Media Graduate Certificate Program emphasizes theory, production, and application of new media technology. The program reflects developments in communication, computer, and telecommunications technologies. All classes are online

Graduate Certificate in Health Communication

The Communication Department, in collaboration with other WSU departments, offers the graduate certificate program in health communication.  It is designed to provide research-based professional study for graduate students in communication, graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in health or health-related disciplines (public health, nursing, sociology, social work, etc.), and individuals practicing in the interdisciplinary field of health and health services (nurses, social workers, doctors, dietitians, pharmacists, etc.).

Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution

This program located in the Department of Communication provides professional study for persons holding a graduate degree from an accredited   educational  institution or those actively pursuing a graduate degree from Wayne State University. Students will learn about the sources and dynamics of conflict as well as processes for addressing them.
