The Wayne State University Debate Institute is designed to promote the training of students in the understanding and application of the principles and techniques of argumentation. Central to this commitment is individualized instruction. Each institute participant will receive individualized instruction directed towards improving the presentation and research skills needed to succeed in high school debate.

 

Special Features

Labs with a coach to student ratio of 1 to 6.

Multiple practice debates and speeches followed by extensive critiques on both the substantive arguments and presentational techniques.

Detailed lectures covering the key issues of hot topic issues such as global warming, death penalty, human cloning and many others.

Instruction from a dedicated and accomplished staff with over 40 years of debate experience.

Access to the Wayne State Library System including the law, undergraduate, graduate, and medical libraries.

Quality debate instruction for a reasonable price.
